Taylor Yount is a disability rights advocate, entrepreneur, and poet currently residing in Bainbridge Island, WA. She began her journey with poetry over a decade ago, penning her first verses in the small space of a college dorm room at Santa Clara University. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a thesis on PTSD in 2015, she embarked on a career in nonprofit work for 10 years. Yount draws upon her combined backgrounds of academia, nonprofit and lived experiences to explore the lasting effects of trauma on mental health. She uses the artistic muse of poetry to capture the unspoken emotions of trauma and transform them into something tangible. Her work reflects a nuanced understanding of the human mind, offering readers both insight and solace.
Recently, she has founded an accessibility consulting business. Yount enjoys spending quiet moments writing with tea in hand and her beloved cat, Tabitha, curled up next to her.
