Bakhtina
Veta Bakhtina's work is based on her worldly adventures as well as explorations of the mystical realm of dreams and out-of-body experience. Her pop-surreal oil paintings are imbued with the aesthetic of Slavic folk art central to her culture, exploring themes of home, nostalgia, and manifestations of infinity in nature through a trans-cultural lens.

Veta grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the end of the Communist era and credits her exposure to uncharted nature, and tradition of heritage for much of her inspiration and working style. When not working as a traveling muralist, collecting reflections around the world, Veta can be found painting at her Creatures' Secrets Studio Gallery in Aquarium Village in Newport, OR.
